The UCF Brass Camp will focus on the fundamental principles of brass performance. This will include covering technique, tone production, and the literature for All-State. Students will participate in chamber groups, masterclasses, and instrumental choirs.

Tuition and Housing

Early Registration Tuition

$425 for 4 days by April 15, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

Late Registration Tuition

$500 for 4 days by June 20, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

Housing

$150 for 4 days by June 20, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

Applications will close on June 20, 2024 or when camps reach capacity. A 15% discount is available for a second child. A reservation fee of $50 is non-refundable and will be used towards the cost of tuition. Tuition does not include a $50 administrative fee to Acceptd.

Refund Policy

Requests for refunds of camp tuition must be submitted no later than June 15, 2024. No refunds will be considered after this point. Transaction fees paid to Accepted during registration are non-refundable, and a $50 processing fee is deducted from all refunds.

Audition Pieces

Auditions are for internal ensemble placements. All applicants will be accepted to the summer program. All students should submit a digital audition before June 20th, at which time instructors will place students in one of two large ensembles and one chamber ensemble. Please follow the directions on the Placement Audition Link below. Please email Luis Fred if you have any questions or concerns.

More Information

It is recommended that participants be students from 7th–12th grade. They must have at least 1 year of band experience to participate.

Will there be housing available?

Yes!

Can my student request a specific roommate?

Yes!

Will there be adults supervising campers?

Yes. There will be an adult present at all events, during free time, and overnight for those staying on campus.

Do students have to stay on campus to participate?

No! Local students can commute daily.

Does my child have to be an All-State participant to attend UCF Brass Camp?

No — anyone with at least 1 year of band experience on their instrument is eligible!

Will students be performing in large groups, or with like ages and skill levels?

Both! We will have large ensemble and auditioned chamber ensembles all week!

What is the Honors Recital?

This year, students will have the opportunity to audition for the UCF Brass Camp Honors Recital. Anywhere from 1-3 students of any camp age will be selected to perform a solo piece of their choosing with piano accompaniment during the final UCF Brass Camp Concert on Saturday, July 8. If you are interested in auditioning, please follow the link for “Honors recital application” and submit your application with piano score no later than June 20th, 2023.

Parking Garage I (next to PAC Music Building) for $5 per day, or metered parking in front of the Music Building, next to Parking Garage I in a “green” spot. Please note that the red or blue parking is for faculty and staff only and will result in a ticket, including in front of the Burnett Honors College and Rehearsal Hall.

Overnight campers will stay in UCF's Lake Claire housing. Campus housing is limited and will be first come, first served. Campers may request a specific roommate.

Drop-off for housing will be inside the Performing Arts Center - Music Building at the Box Office. Check-in time for students that are staying in housing will be announced in the spring.

Check-out will occur in the morning on the last day of camp. Luggage storage will be available.

Linens and towels will not be provided. Mattresses are twin extra long.
